What age group should my child be in?

There are three age groups: 0-1 years old, 1-2 years old, and 2-4 years old.
Age Policy: If your child’s birthday occurs during a session and falls in the first half of the session, please enroll them in the older age group; if your child’s birthday falls in the second half of the session, please enroll them in the younger age group.
The ONLY exception: younger children may be enrolled in their older sibling’s class.

Can I try out Monkey Rock Music before we commit to a whole session?

We would love to offer your first class at Monkey Rock Music to you for free!
We are so confident that you and your child will love Monkey Rock Music that you will come back for more.

I LOVE Monkey Rock Music! How can I register?

To register for a class, please fill out the online form – use the quick links on the right of the screen to navigate to the class you wish to join. Mid-session registration charges will be pro-rated based on the remaining number of classes.

Where can I find the schedule for the location I want? How can I know if there are spaces?

Under the classes tab select the session you’d like to register for
On the right side of your preferred location select “More Info”
Under “select age group” there is a drop down menu with the times and age groups.
- It is also up to date with how many spots are left in each class

I know registration has already begun and I’ve missed some classes for this session. Once I register will I get a refund for the missed classes?

The website actually prorates the amount after each class passes so the amount on the website is the correct amount.
Classes are $13.50ea +HST

Can I bring my partner/spouse/parent/additional caregiver to the class?

Yes of course you can bring them along to our Monkey Rock Music class.
Occasionally when classes are really full it’s a little crowded and the instructor might ask that one parent sit just outside our circle – but they still get to participate!

My little one’s friend is in a class that is full can you make an exception and squeeze us in?

Sorry we can’t squeeze you in because safety regulations limit the number of children we can have in each class.
Fret not! You can get on the wait list here and you’ll be next in line if a spot opens up.

What if my child is sick?

If your child is under the weather and showing signs of sickness such as: fever; vomiting; rashes; or pink eye we ask that you please do not bring them to class.
Not only do we want all our other monkeys to avoid also getting sick, it’s so much nicer getting over sickness with warm and comfy rest in our own bed.
Monkey Rock Music Tips: Don’t forget good hand-washing practices be used and anyone with a communicable (contagious) condition, and please contact a doctor to find out when the best time would be for your child to be back among other children.

Can I make up a missed class?

Yes you can make up missed classes at any location during the session. Here’s the Missed Class Policy:

To sign up, check the schedule and then fill out the online form.
*We reserve two extra spots (even in sold out classes) each class for make up lessons.
Requests must be submitted no later than 24 hours before the class start.
Requests will be reviewed the night before each class, and if it is overbooked you will receive an email asking you to re-submit for another date. If you do not receive an email please head to the class.

What happens if I return to work or need to quit?

If you must cancel the remaining session here is the Cancellation Policy:

You can make up the remaining classes in the session at other dates/locations just as you would when you have already missed a class.
You can transfer the remaining classes to the next session at no charge – some restrictions apply, please contact us for details
If neither of those options work we can refund less a $30 cancellation fee. (This fee is to offset the cost of the paperwork and time involved in enrolling and then de-enrolling, as well as the issuing of the refund. You can avoid the admin charge by choosing instead to bump any remaining credits to another session later in the year – limitations apply, please contact us for details.)

* Please note: We reserve the right to cancel any classes or session due to low registration, venue conflicts, etc. Registered customers will receive full refunds for remaining classes.*

Can I enroll more than one child?

Of course! we strongly encourage families to share in the joy of music together.

Sibling Policy: For the safety and enjoyment of all, we ask that siblings enroll in the class of the eldest (Ex: if a 2 year old and an 8 month old from the same family enroll with Monkey Rock Music, both children would come to the 2-4 year old class.
With the full enrolment of a child, each additional sibling can enroll with a 25% discount.
Siblings under 6 months of age on the first day of the session can accompany at no charge.

School is closed today! Can I bring my older child (they’re older than the 4 years old)?

We’re so sorry but unfortunately for safety reasons under no circumstances can a child too old for a class be present. They can’t be in the room, nor wait out in the hall – this is due to liability issues for both Monkey Rock Music and the venues we use. So sorry for the inconvenience!

We won’t be able to attend all classes this session- can my child drop in on one class?

As long as there is availability (check the schedule) and you are welcome to come or bring a sibling for one class.

Drop-In Policy: First fill out the form here.
The drop in rate is $17.70 + HST = $20 per class
The drop in rate for siblings of enrolled students is $13.27 + HST = $15 (with the discount).

Can I take pictures/videos?

You are welcome to take photos of YOUR child and the instructor only.
For the safety of all children, we ask that NO videos are taken in class.
If you would like any pictures that include other children in the class, we ask that you speak to their caregiver first.

What if my child is VERY energetic?

All children learn in different ways, and as fully trained educators we strongly support individual learning methods. If you have any concerns about whether Monkey Rock Music is right for you and your child, please contact us and we’d be more than happy to answer any questions.
